How you can help

There are many ways you can help the campaign to Save Newcastle's Paramount Theatre:
Write to the local newspapers:
The Chronicle and Journal have both covered the Paramount campaign, and welcome readers' letters. Contact details are available from the Chronicle and Journal (icNewcastle) website.
Write to your local MP:
The Paramount falls within Tyne Bridge parliamentary constituency. The current MP is David Clelland (Labour).
Write to the Department for Culture, Media and Sport:
The Department for Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) has responsibility for listed buildings and
the historic environment, and the current Secretary of State is Rt Hon Tessa Jowell MP. You can write to
DCMS to express your view that the Odeon should being relisted, in accordance with the expert advice of English Heritage.
The address is:
Department for Culture, Media and Sport
2-4 Cockspur Street
LONDON
SW1Y 5DH
You might also try e-mailing Tessa Jowell - her address is tessa.jowell@culture.gsi.gov.uk.
Since the last Government reshuffle, David Lammy MP has become Minister for Culture, which includes specific responsibility within DCMS for heritage and architecture. His e-mail is david.lammy@culture.gsi.gov.uk.
Baroness (Tessa) Blackstone, who had a key role in the Odeon being delisted in the first place, is no longer a Minister in DCMS.
